Account & Preferences

Your personal settings, separate from your organization's settings. Reach both from the user menu under your avatar (bottom-left on desktop, top-right on mobile).
The Account Settings page with name, email, phone and password controls
Account Settings: your name, email, phone, and password.

Account settings

Open the user menu and choose Account Management. On the Account Settings page you can update your Name, Email and Phone, then click Save Changes.

  1. To change your password, click Reset Password.
  2. Enter your Current Password, a New Password and Confirm New Password.
  3. Click Save Password.

Locked out after failed sign-ins?

Too many failed email-and-password sign-ins on an account temporarily pause email-and-password sign-in for it, whoever the attempts came from. Google and Microsoft single sign-on are not affected. Choose Forgot password? on the sign-in page and set a new password — that restores access immediately, without waiting.

Signed in with SSO?

If your firm uses Google or Microsoft single sign-on, you manage your password with that provider rather than here.

The Preferences page with personal Web Search Settings
Preferences: personal web-search domain filtering, merged with your organization's settings.

Preferences

From the user menu, choose Preferences. The Web Search Settings here control domain filtering for your web research, and are merged with your organization's settings.

  • If your organization restricts searches to an allow-list, you can only disable specific domains to narrow your own results further.
  • If your organization doesn't restrict searches, you set your own Filter Mode (Exclude domains or Restrict to domains), add domains, and click Save Preferences.

The organization-wide version of these controls is covered in Research controls.
